Parent Coaching Questions

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to common queries about conscious parenting coaching and the way I work.

If your question is not answered here, please do drop me a line so I can help.

What is a parent coach?

A parent coach supports you in getting clear on your strengths and helps you work through any challenges you might be facing. We’ll explore any limiting beliefs you might have, understand where they come from, and create a more effective plan for moving forward. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can offload, feel heard, and get the validation you deserve – because let’s face it, parenting is tough!

How will a parent coach help me?

As a parent coach, I’ll help you build a deeper connection with your child(ren) by understanding the basics of child development and their emotional needs. We’ll explore how your own nervous system responds in stressful situations, helping you learn how to self-regulate – and in turn, better co-regulate with your child.

With this awareness, you’ll be able to respond with more compassion, making thoughtful choices instead of reacting impulsively (like yelling or punishing). Building a secure attachment is key, as it helps your child access their logical brain more often – which is essential for them to develop into confident, self-assured individuals.

If you resort to punishments for quick compliance, this doesn’t teach the skills your child needs for the future. In fact, they can create a cycle of fear, eroding trust and connection, and making it harder to find joy in your relationship. My goal as your coach is to help you and your family experience more joy, understanding, and connection together.

Can this be done together with my partner?

While I believe you’ll get the most out of a 1:1 coaching session, where you can be fully open and honest without any distractions, I don’t offer couples coaching. The focus of our sessions is on you as an individual, which allows us to explore your personal challenges more deeply in the time we have.

If you’d like to discuss things with your partner, I encourage you to share the insights from our sessions together. This way, you can bring the learning and growth back into your relationship, but our work together will remain focused on your individual journey.

I don't have much time - how long will this take?

This is an investment in you and your family’s emotional wellbeing, so the time you put in will pay off! Some modules will take longer than others, however it is hard for me to say how long because it is so dependant on how quickly you absorb the information and how deep you want to go with the worksheets. The videos in each section vary, with the longest being around an hour – I often listen to them while walking my dog to make the most of my time!

The worksheets can be as quick or as in-depth as you like. Some will be easy to breeze through, while others may take a little longer as you process what comes up. The more time and thought you put in, the more value you’ll get out of it.

My child is neurodivergent - will it help me?

While I’m not qualified to diagnose or treat conditions, as a neurodivergent person myself with a neurodivergent son, I truly believe this course can help you gain valuable insights. It’s all about increasing understanding, compassion, and awareness – for both yourself and your child.

I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate a world with high expectations, and how reframing situations can make a huge difference in working with a neurodivergent brain, rather than against it. When we received my son's diagnosis, I felt empowered and clear about the next steps, rather than overwhelmed. This is the kind of shift I hope to help you achieve through this course.

Will you get my child to listen to me?!

This is a 100% parent-focused programme, so we’ll be working on your reactions and responses. There’s nothing “wrong” with your child – I believe they’re doing their best with the skills they have. Our job as parents is to model the skills they need and teach them, but sometimes, we first need to learn and develop those skills ourselves!

How do I know if this will work?

Change starts with raising awareness. The goal isn’t to be a “perfect” parent – there’s no such thing! What I can guarantee is that this programme will help you understand yourself and your child much better. While clashes may still happen, you’ll feel more empowered and have the tools to handle tricky situations.

Refund policy?

I’m committed to providing a valuable coaching experience and want to ensure you're satisfied with your choice to work with me. If you decide within 14 days of signing up that the programme isn’t for you, I offer a 100% refund – as long as you haven’t received the course login or materials.

Once you’ve received access to the course materials and portal, the spot in the programme is non-refundable. Any payment made secures your place in the programme, regardless of whether you participate.

This work is a personal journey and a lifelong process. Neuroplasticity shows us that our brains can change, but everyone starts from a different place and at their own pace. Your outcomes will depend on your level of participation, openness, and willingness to embrace the process.

What does a session look like?

We have video calls which last approximately 1 hour each time, the introduction call (first one after clarity call) may be slightly shorter. I invite you to share anything that has come up since we last spoke and we also go over the worksheets that you fill in between our time together. This is your opportunity to ask any questions or get further clarity about anything that comes up.
